WHAT TO EXPECT

An initial homeopathic case taking is approximately 2 hours long. This is where the homeopath will be asking detailed questions regarding many aspects of an individual's life including: their mental and emotional expressions which can stem back into childhood and include aspects like dreams, as well as family history and general lifestyle, just to mention a few. Once a remedy has been selected it is either arranged for pick up or mailed out and subsequent follow-ups are booked based on progress and development of the individual.

REGULATION IN ONTARIO

Currently, homeopathic medicine is in a transition process to become regulated in Ontario under the Regulated Health Professionals Act. Regulation under the RHPA will hopefully lead to an increasing number of homeopaths being included in a patient`s current health team. Integrating homeopathic and naturopathic medicine can effectively augment a patient`s conventional treatment plan leading to higher patient satisfaction and more comprehensive patient care.

INSURANCE COVERAGE

Homeopathic medicines are currently not covered under OHIP and patients pay for these services. However, some of the private insurance companies provide coverage for these services to assist patients in seeking complementary forms of healthcare. Your employer decides what services are covered in your insurance plan and if  homeopathic medicine is not currently covered, you may ask your employer or human resources office to explore the option of including these services.
